My current favourite. Modern Australian food presented with a pizazz you'd expect in an expensive restaurant in Sydney. I thoroughly recommend the haloumi, prosciutto and asparagus entree and the prawn, chilli and herb linguine but it's all good. Open breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be quick because this chef will end up in Double Bay. Sample dinner menu (pdf)
The Hungry Duck is an Asian restaurant with a modern influence using organic produce where possible. They source most of their produce locally and have their a organic herb and vegetable garden. They are open for Dinner Wednesday to Sunday from 6pm but make sure you book ahead - they are very popular. 4464 2323.
I usually cook my own rice and order a take away green chicken curry and spring rolls. I don't know what they put in it, but their green curry is at least twice as complex and delicious as any other I have tasted - including in Bangkok!
Feeling like a bigger challenge than a Thai curry? Try the vindaloo here and watch the steam come out of your ears. It gets quite busy, so it's worth while booking a table or arriving early.
One of Nowra's best-kept secrets, order from the counter on your way to the thickly vegetated, secluded dining area out the back. You would never know that you are in the middle of a city! I recommend one of their home-baked tarts with a salad. They often have excellent performers to serenade you during dinner on a Friday or Saturday night.
An award winning cafe-restaurant, this is the perfect place to have a cuppa and cake while reading the weekend papers. The view of the beach and estuary from the verandah is stunning, and the food and beverages are yummy.
The restaurant with the best views on the South Coast, many of our guests have commented positively about their bistro and a la carte menu.
